Company Background
Nizani Automotive cc was formed in 1992 by two friends Mike Swann and Richard Stead with the object of marketing specialised off-road equipment to the Nissan off-road fraternity. Mike’s vehicle, a Nissan Sani, hence Nizani, was used as a platform for both testing of locally manufactured equipment as well as imported accessories.
In late 1993 we became the sole S.A. distributors of Lockright Automatic diff locks and with John Zentmeyer the owner, designed a special unit for the Nissan rear axle which received worldwide acclaim and is still sold today.
In 1994 we received Nissan S.A. approval for this locker for off-road conditions and we went on to get Toyota S.A. approval in June 1996 for Lockright installation in the solid front axle of the Toyota Hi Lux 4×4.
In 1997 Sani Industries approved our roof rack design as well as the Peco engine management chip which allowed, amongst other performance advantages, the use of either leaded or unleaded fuel in the Nissan VG 30 engine.
In February 1999 we obtained Land Rover S.A. approval for the installation of the Detroit Truetrac in all Rover axles as fitted to the Series 90 and 110 and Range Rover models.
In the same year we were appointed Southern African distributors for Marks 4 x 4 Accessories in Australia who offer engine conversion kits and low ratio gearsets for amongst others, Toyota Land Cruiser and Nissan Patrol as well as specialized off-road equipment such as front axle disconnect parts for the Toyota Land Cruiser.
In 2010 we imported Auburn Gear differential locker products which we have successfully installed in the rear axles of Toyota Land Cruiser, Tata and Mahindra 4×4’s.
In 2013 GWM approved traction control solutions for their new Steed vehicle range.
In 2018 we were appointed distributors for Midwest Truck and Auto who own World American, Motive Gear Performance, Motive Gear, Richmond, Excel, Powertrax, Ten Factory and the Grip range.
We supply an array of traction control devices, differential ratios, crawler gears for a variety of popular 4 x 4’s including Jeep, Toyota, Nissan, Land Rover, Mitsubishi etc and will endeavour to source specialist parts from our comprehensive supplier base.
The company provides in-depth product knowledge to prospective buyers to identify and supply the correct solution to their specific applications and upholds product warranties offered by their supply network.
