Aussie Locker Developed from a patented design by John Zentmeyer in the late 80’s and now exclusively manufactured in the U.S.A using the highest quality materials and marketed by the owner Cora Jokinen of Torq-Masters Technology, the Aussie locker, sometimes referred to as a lunch box style locker, replaces the internal gearset found in a conventional open differential. Using the design principles of a camshaft profile, the Aussie Locker gearset components actually interlock more aggressively under increased torque loads in straight line conditions whilst the torque of 11nm or 14 ft lbs required to automatically unlock the outer wheel in a corner is low enough to allow a child of say 6 years old to unlock an airborne wheel by hand. No external inputs are required leaving the driver to concentrate all his/her attention on negotiating challenging off road obstacles.
